Team Driven. The church operates on a healthy team-driven model, ensuring that all aspects of church life and ministry are handled collaboratively and effectively. At the heart of this model is the Leadership Team, composed of the Senior Pastor, church staff, elders, lay pastors, and ministry team leaders. The Leadership team meets regularly to pray, brainstorm, plan/coordinate activities, and share resources, enhancing the effectiveness of the church's ministries. They are crucial in setting policy, creating the church calendar and ensuring that all ministry activities align with the church's mission statement, purpose, values, and beliefs.
Each group or ministry within the church works by reaching a consensus, meaning they make decisions that everyone agrees on, rather than just going with the majority. This team-based approach really helps everyone feel part of what's going on, encourages everyone to contribute, and ensures that decisions reflect what #1 God wants and #2 what is best for the overall church community.
Senior Pastor. The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church. Guided by his faith in Jesus and being led by the Holy Spirit, he has several important jobs: he preaches and teaches from the Bible, leads worship services, and oversees church all church activity. He also runs church meetings, manages the church staff, takes care of the church's overall administration, and makes sure the church's structure and activities align with its mission.
Church Staff. The church staff play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations and spiritual activities of the church. They report to and assist the Senior Pastor in carrying out the church’s responsibilities, making sure that the church's administration runs smoothly and effectively. This includes helping to participate and/or organize worship services, managing church events, and maintaining the church's operations. The staff are also involved in implementing the church's structural and functional model.
Elder. Elders in the church serve as role models and spiritual leaders, showing others how to live out Christian values and maintain a strong relationship with Jesus. They support the Senior Pastor by offering advice, helping handle criticism, and regularly praying and consulting with him. This is not a governing or decision-making role, but are part of the overall Leadership team and are there to step in when asked to help make key decisions with big issues, disagreements within ministry teams, or ethical concerns.
Lay Pastor. Lay pastors act as extensions of the Senior Pastor, assisting him in various ministerial duties. They don't lead the ministry teams directly but provide resources, help, and act as a bridge between the teams and the Senior Pastor. Lay pastors may also participate in worship services, like making announcements, leading prayers, or assisting in baptisms, and preach or lead Bible studies. Their role is to support the Senior Pastor in caring for the congregation's needs, which includes visiting members and addressing both their spiritual and physical concerns. They are appointed by the Senior Pastor and play a supportive, versatile role in the church.
Team Leaders. Team leaders play a critical role in coordinating the various ministry teams. They lead these teams by organizing activities, facilitating meetings, and ensuring that each team's efforts align with the church's overall mission and goals. These leaders are responsible for consensus-building within their teams, aiming to make decisions that everyone can get behind. They also act as the main point of contact between their teams and the church leadership, ensuring smooth communication and effective execution of church activities. Team leaders serve on the Leadership Team and are given the responsibility of helping lead the church.
